Time to start the next project. It will be Tamiya kit of the Ferrari 360 Spider. I will build it straight out of the box and add only seatbelts. Why? Because I want to take a rest from highly detailed projects. And also I’m taking part with this build in local contest of OOB (out of the box) builds. I hope it will go nice and smooth.

The body is already coated with grey primer. Had to sand down some mold lines here and that’s it.

Also I glued door sills to the body to paint them together. White primer and color next.

Few more parts in grey primer.

Here’s the the body in color.

The heart of this prancing yellow horse is fully assembled.
I think I might buy Ferrari 360 Modena and make it highly detailed one :)

Moving on to the interior. Seats are ready. I added a little washing here so they could look a bit more real.

Finished the dashboard. It was not the easiest part to paint :)

Interior tub was painted with the same mix of colors as seats (X-6+XF-15), but I added few extra drops of matte black here so it would be a bit darker color than the “leather” parts. I also tried to imitate carpet surface with dry airbrushing. Achieved effect is not what I hoped for, but I’m satisfied overall.

Update 2 | 20.07.2020

More parts of Ferrari 360 Spider are painted. The body will be polished and finished very soon also.

Shining body after polishing! Window trims and turn signals are painted also.

Wheels and brakes.

Update 3 | 25.07.2020

Interior done. Next - installation of engine and interior tub to the chassis.

Chassis is ready. Everything looks great. Perfect fit as most Tamiya kits are.

And it’s a wrap boys & girls! Please meet Ferrari 360 Spider in Giallo Modena color.

This build was totally out of the box. The only add-on I used here is seatbelts set from Hobby Design. This Tamiya kit is stunning both in quality and fitting. During this build lacquer, enamel and acrylic Tamiya paints were used. Body color is TS-16 decanted and painted with airbrush. Clear coat is 2K automotive by Mobihel. In the next few days I will share with you more photos of this beautiful car.

Enjoy!
